Narrative Inquiry: The Personal Entrepreneurship Experience Entrepreneurship is a large part of everyday living and an important part of society and the American dream. â€Å"Evidence along a number of dimensions and a variety of sources points to a US economy that is becoming less dynamic. Of particular interest are declining business startup rates and the resulting diminished role for dynamic young businesses in the economy,† (Decker, Haltiwanger, Jarmin, Miranda, 2014). Due to this finding it is important to understand the aspects of entrepreneurship, explore why our current entrepreneurs decided to enter into business, and what our entrepreneurs consider success. Introduction It has been said that America has had one of the most flexible and entrepreneurial economies. â€Å"It is often argued that this dynamism and flexibility has enabled the US economy to adapt to changing economic circumstances and recover from recessions in a robust manner,† (Decker et al. 2014). Startups have been one of the largest factors in job growth in the US. While this suggests that entrepreneurship is one of the most important aspects in the US economy, most businesses fail within their first ten years (Decker et al., 2014). Evidence suggests that the rate of startups and employment growth has decreased recently. â€Å"For example, the share of US employment accounted for by young firms has declined by almost 30 percent over the last 30 years.
